Download japiBooth and try it for 14 days
You start the trial on Polar, which asks for a card but doesn't charge anything if you cancel before the 14 days are up. From there you download the installer and get your license key. Install it, connect your camera and take a test photo.
Version 1.0.1 for Windows 10 and 11
File: Instalar_JapiBooth_1.0.1.exe. When you start the trial, Polar gives you access to the download and to your license key in your customer portal.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11. The program uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 component, which already comes with up-to-date Windows 10 and 11.
- A camera: a USB or built-in webcam, or a DSLR or mirrorless camera with digiCamControl (free, installed separately; only the models it supports).
- Optional: a printer installed in Windows.
- Minimum computer: an Intel Core i3 (4th generation or equivalent) and 8 GB of RAM. That's what we've tested it on, and it runs well. Recommended: an Intel N150 (or better) and 12 GB of RAM.
- Disk space: about 110 MB for the program, plus whatever your event photos take up.
- Internet to activate the license and upload photos to the cloud. It isn't needed during the event.
Install the program
- Run the installer you downloaded from Polar. Windows will ask for administrator permission.
- The installer asks for the language, English or Spanish (it suggests your Windows language). The program and the operator manual will use the language you choose.
- The program is installed in the folder
C:\JapiBooth. It also keeps your settings, presets and photos there. - Open JapiBooth from the Start menu or from the desktop shortcut.
The first time it opens, the program asks which camera you'll use (a DSLR or mirrorless with digiCamControl, or a webcam) and lets you change the language. You can change both at any time in Settings.
If you use a DSLR or mirrorless camera
- Download digiCamControl from its official website and install it with the default options.
- Connect the camera by USB, turn it on and check that digiCamControl detects it.
- In digiCamControl, open File → Settings → Webserver and tick “Use web server”. The program uses it for the live view.
- Turn the camera on and leave digiCamControl open before you open JapiBooth.
With a webcam you don't need any of this.
Start the trial and activate the license
- You start the trial from Polar's checkout link. It asks for a card, but doesn't charge anything if you cancel before 14 days have passed.
- In your Polar customer portal you'll find the installer download and your license key.
- In the program: Settings → License, paste the key and click Activate license.
- If you don't cancel, Polar charges €199 when the trial ends and the license renews every year until you cancel. Polar handles the tax and issues the invoice.
- To move the license to another PC, deactivate it on the first one. Without internet, the program keeps working for up to 30 days between checks.
Black Friday: 40% off with the code BF40, until December 1.
With the code you pay €119.40 per year. The discount applies to the first annual payment only; renewals are charged at €199 per year.
Christmas: 40% off with the code NAVIDAD40, until January 6.
With the code you pay €119.40 per year. The discount applies to the first annual payment only; renewals are charged at €199 per year.
Cancel
You can cancel at any time from your Polar customer portal. If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged. If you cancel afterwards, the license stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for and the next renewal isn't charged. More details in the refund policy.
Update
Install the new version over the old one. Your settings, event presets, photos and the program's language are kept. New versions are downloaded from your Polar customer portal.
If there's an internet connection, the program tells you when it opens that a new version is available and takes you to your Polar portal. If it's not a good moment, click “Not now” and it will remind you later.
