2. What you buy
A license to use the japiBooth program for Windows. You don't buy the source code, and ownership of the program is not transferred.
3. Free trial
The trial lasts 14 days from when you start the subscription on Polar's checkout page. Polar asks for a card, but doesn't charge anything if you cancel before the trial ends. If you don't cancel, the price of the annual license (section 4) is charged when it ends and the subscription renews every year until you cancel. If the license stops being active, photos can't be taken until a valid license is activated. Your settings and your photos are not lost.
4. Price and taxes
The price is the one shown on the website and on the checkout page: €199 per year, per license. Sometimes we offer temporary discounts with a promotional code; the discount, its deadline and whether it applies only to the first payment or also to renewals are stated on the website and on Polar's checkout page. Polar calculates the applicable tax according to your country, charges it and issues the invoice.
The license is annual and renews automatically every year unless you cancel it. You can cancel it at any time from your Polar customer portal: the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid and the next renewal isn't charged. If the price ever changes, we'll let you know by email before charging you the renewal and you'll be able to cancel.
When the license ends, the key is deactivated and the program stops taking photos at the next check, until you activate another valid license. Your settings and your photos are kept.
5. Purchase process and delivery
The purchase is made on Polar's checkout page. Polar Software, Inc. acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller: it collects the payment, calculates and remits the tax and issues the invoice, while the license to use the program is granted by Francisco Javier Renart Espi (japiBooth). By buying you also accept Polar's purchase terms. When you finish, you receive the license key in the confirmation email and in your Polar customer portal.
6. License to use
- The license is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable, and is granted for one year from the purchase (see section 4).
- Each license is for a single photobooth: the key is activated on one computer at a time. If you use several photobooths, you need one license for each.
- If you need more than 2 licenses, write to us at info@japibooth.com and we'll give you a special price.
- You may use the program at your own events and your clients' events, including commercially (for example, by renting out the photobooth). The license covers the computer on which you activate it.
- You may not copy or share the key or the installer with third parties, resell or sublicense the program, or decompile it, except as the law expressly allows.
7. Activation and checks
The key is activated in the program itself (Settings → License) and is tied to that computer. To use it on another PC, you must first deactivate it on the first one. The program checks the license over the internet from time to time; without a connection it keeps working for up to 30 days after the last successful check. If a key is deactivated, for example after a refund, the program locks at the next check.
8. Updates
Updates are installed over the previous version and keep your settings, presets and photos. While your license is valid, you can install the updates we publish at no additional cost. We don't commit to a release schedule or to including specific features.
9. Requirements and compatibility
The program needs Windows 10 or 11 and a compatible camera: a webcam, or a DSLR or mirrorless camera that works with digiCamControl, which is third-party software. Minimum computer: an Intel Core i3 (4th generation or equivalent) and 8 GB of RAM, which is what we've tested it on. Recommended: an Intel N150 (or better) and 12 GB of RAM. The free trial is there so you can check that everything works with your equipment before the license is charged.
10. Support
Support is provided by email: info@japibooth.com.
11. Liability
The program is provided with the guarantees that the law establishes for digital products. We recommend running a complete test with your equipment before each event. We aren't liable for hardware, connection or third-party service failures (camera, printer, cloud, Google) that don't depend on us and that prevent photos from being taken or delivered. This doesn't limit the rights the law gives you as a consumer, nor our liability in cases where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
12. Withdrawal and refunds
See the refund policy.
13. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the rights that the consumer regulations of your country of residence give you.
